Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using STEAMhives or Excella RMS.

01Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using STEAMhives Innovation Hub services or the Excella RMS platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

These Terms apply to all users of steamhives.com and excella.steamhives.com, including school administrators, teachers, and parents accessing results via PIN.

02Services

STEAMhives provides two main services:

  • STEAMhives Innovation Hub — coding, robotics, and STEAM education programmes for children and young adults in Lagos, Nigeria. Programmes include Code Champs, RoboQuest, and Web & AI Wizards.
  • Excella RMS — a web-based school result management system for Nigerian and African schools, including PDF report card generation, attendance tracking, teacher portals, broadsheet analytics, and parent PIN access.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services with reasonable notice.

03Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when registering.
  • Keep your password secure and not share it with unauthorised persons.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

Schools using Excella RMS are responsible for the accuracy of student data entered into the platform and for managing teacher access and parent PIN distribution appropriately.

04Payments & Subscriptions

Excella RMS subscription fees are billed in Nigerian Naira (NGN) and processed securely via Paystack. By subscribing, you authorise STEAMhives to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis for the plan selected.

  • Payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
  • STEAMhives reserves the right to update pricing with at least 14 days’ advance notice.
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension of access to the platform.
  • Coupon codes are single-use and non-transferable unless otherwise stated.

05Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Misuse our services or use them for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, its servers, or its databases.
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any disruptive software.
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute any part of the platform without written permission.
  • Use the platform in any way that violates applicable Nigerian laws or regulations, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA).

Violations may result in immediate account suspension without refund.

06Data & Privacy

Your use of our services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you consent to the data practices described therein.

Student data entered into Excella RMS remains the property of the school. STEAMhives processes this data only as a data processor on the school’s behalf and does not sell or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

07Intellectual Property

All content, branding, software, and underlying technology on the STEAMhives platform — including Excella RMS — are owned by STEAMhives Innovation Hub or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any part of our platform without prior written permission from STEAMhives Innovation Hub.

08Limitation of Liability

Our services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • STEAMhives is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform.

09Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the platform or by email.

Continued use of our services after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using our services.
